Aerial Yoga

Unnata Aerial Yoga is a type of yoga that uses a circus hammock to help support and open the body as well as access traditional yoga postures in a new way.  Unnata Aerial Yoga uses both the hammock and a traditional yoga mat to move through postures on the floor as well as in the air.  The hammocks are made of durable fabric that can hold over 2000 pounds, so you needn’t worry about whether the hammock can hold your full body weight.  In fact, the more you surrender your weight fully into the hammock, the more opening and release you can find in your spine and body.  You’ll find that by practicing Unnata Aerial Yoga, you become more flexible, strong and balanced in your Hatha Yoga practice.  You may also be able to do poses using the hammock that were previously unattainable in your mat practice.  For example, handstand is a wonderful inversion but can be challenging for people with wrist problems.  You can easily do a handstand using the hammock with the no pressure in the wrist or hands.
